For a Google Ads campaign aimed at lead generation for a local business, consider these six important goals:
1. Track Click-Through Rate (CTR): Monitor the percentage of people who click on your ads after seeing them. A high CTR indicates effective ad copy and targeting.
2. Measure Conversion Rate: Track the percentage of clicks that result in desired actions, such as filling out a contact form or calling your business. This helps gauge the effectiveness of your ads in generating leads.
3. Evaluate Cost Per Lead (CPL): Calculate the average cost to acquire a lead through your ads. This helps in assessing the efficiency of your ad spend and optimizing your budget.
4. Monitor Local Ad Performance: Use location tracking to see how well your ads perform in specific geographic areas. This ensures you are effectively reaching your target local audience.
5. Analyze Landing Page Metrics: Track user behavior on your landing pages, including time spent and bounce rates, to determine if they are engaging and converting visitors effectively.
6. Assess Return on Ad Spend (ROAS): Measure the revenue generated from your ads compared to the amount spent. This helps evaluate the overall profitability of your advertising efforts and make informed budget decisions.
The client has tried to run Google Ads in-house with no success in Q4 in 2023. They were not able to get to an adequate spend level and if they got any leads they were all spam. They managed to get only 3 conversions that were spam and cost £17.46 each. (screenshot attached)
The client is a local service provider in the healthcare space, where there is fierce competition in the local area.
I have setup new campaigns, laser focused on high-intent leads in the local area and managed to scale ad spend gradually from just £600 a month to £1,300 all this while keeping their calendar booked, increasing ROI and decreasing Cost per Conversion.
Now they are ready to open up new locations and we have a strong strategy in place to scale those as well.
I started working on the account in February, starting from scratch with new campaigns and achieved great results in a short period of time. Let’s look at performance from April onwards (screenshot attached)
Currently the two older campaign (first two from the top) are achieving £6.00 cost per conversion and the third campaign which is for a new location will soon reach similar performance.
Overall, in the past 2,5 months, this business has received 465 leads at an average conversion rate of 39% and £6.48/ conversion. What would your business look like if it had hundreds of leads flowing in?
